What is the Yoga Credential Project?
The Yoga Credential Project is an open-source, community-led initiative founded by Danny Angelo Fluker Jr. to establish a decentralized alternative to traditional, centralized yoga teacher registries. By prioritizing portable credentials and localized teaching lineages, the project creates an equitable, community-governed ecosystem for independent yoga teachers and schools worldwide.
Getting to know YCP
The Yoga Credential Project (YCP) is building a vision for a more transparent, portable, and community-informed approach to yoga credentialing that recognizes the diverse pathways through which teachers develop their knowledge, experience, relationships, and practice. Through collective dialogue, shared resources, and experimentation, YCP invites yoga teachers, schools, and organizations to help shape a credentialing system rooted in transparency, relationship, and shared responsibility.

A Closer Look
What makes a decentralized credentialing system different?
Imagine a future where yoga teachers and yoga schools can digitally verify their credentials, regardless of which organization issued them.
A future where the network is collectively owned, transparent, and shaped by the people who participate in it.
Here’s what makes decentralization different:
🌐 Collectively Owned
No single governing body or individual owns the network. Its future is shaped through collective participation, shared responsibility, and community input.
🔎 Credentials You Can Verify
Yoga teachers and schools can digitally verify their credentials, regardless of the organization that issued them, whether Yoga Alliance, American Yoga Council, or another credentialing body.
🤝 Visible to Everyone
The network is open to exploration. People can see credential records for themselves, creating opportunities for greater transparency, shared ownership, and collective trust.
We’re working toward a future where credentialing is more accessible, transparent, and responsive to the people who make up the yoga community.
The Yoga Credential Project (YCP) is an invitation to help shape that future.
